Our late night conversation with Aleia after church when we got home......
Mommy says: What is this on the counter, a bill?
Dadddy says: I don't have a clue.
Aleia says: We don't have a clue? Well daddy we need to go to that oh store and buy one.
It was so cute, she had no idea what we were talking about but she so desperately wanted to be apart of our conversation.
We had to just laugh and laugh and she joined along in the laughter which cause even more laughing:-) Kids say the most adorable things.
1st. night out without Brienna. I left her with Charles, and Aleia stayed with Savannah Suppan while I enjoyed 3 hours with 3 great ladies from our church.
We enjoyed a little Sushi and some tasty Seafood soup. Afterwards we walked to a nice cafe and had a delicious cappuccino.
Many of you who have small babies can appreciate that I took a little time out for myself and wow it felt amazing...a big thanks goes out to Savannah and my wonderful husband for making it possible for me to enjoy a well needed night out with the ladies. When I picked Aleia up from Savannah's house she said "Mama you forgot me, don't do that again", well I explained that she had nothing to worry about cause Mama came back, and she quickly forgave me when I told her she could have pop corn for her bed time snack. (Looking forward to the next ladies night out)
Aleia was on the phone with Grandpa Vaughn in Michigan and she said "Papa I see you soon with me and my sister", Grandpa said "oh you and Brienna are coming to America to see me and she said "no me and Brie-Brie! Papa, that is what I call her". She was setting the record straight that her "Sister" was "Brie-Brie", we're not sure where she got that but ever since that phone call she will only call the baby "Sister or Brie-Brie". Charles is away this weekend in Norway preaching, and on our way home from church last night Aleia said "Mama you driving"??? and I said yes Aleia, and Aleia said "but Mama you don't know how to get home, only Daddy does". Well I made it clear that I knew how to get home but I found it so cute that she feels that when her Daddy is not around that she has to be the one to take care of me, to all of you who knew me as a toddler I am sure this sounds very familiar.
As you can see both girls are very contrasting in their coloring, one tan with dark eyes like Mama and one fair with blue eyes like Daddy, it makes our house full of variety and we love it. Aleia already notices that Brienna and her are so different, I hope that this is a good thing when they are older and that it doesn't cause conflict between the two of them, I suppose it is up to us to compliment their difference in a positive way.
It really reminds me of my sister and I, we are so different in just about every way yet we are so close, that is what I hope and pray for my girls.
Brienna is a rolly, polly, jolly baby who has recently discovered she can lie on her tummy, roll over and Mama will roll her back, it has become a little family game for the past couple of days. She has not yet discovered how to roll from her back to her tummy but she is determined and in just a few days we're sure she will be rolling both ways.
For Charles 34th Birthday the Church gave him a surprise party after our Wednesday night prayer service. They presented him a gift bag full of little goodies along with a certificate to a dive shop which made Charles thrilled. We have a loving Church family and we are so thankful for all the kindness they continue to show towards the four of us. The same night they also honored us as a couple for our 14 year Anniversary in giving us a"Cappuccino"maker.....of course so that I can host coffee parties at my house.
